WARRIOR WOMEN are a group of women from Hartlepool who share a common experience of being survivors of violence and sexual abuse. They came together to produce work, which not only reflects their experiences but also is a celebration of their lives now. The group affords the women the opportunity to work through their problems and issues in a safe and secure environment using art as an expressive, therapeutic media with the support of professional artists.

Since the group began they have produced some very interesting and thought provoking art work, participated in several local arts events including Hartlepool Eco Festival, Art for all week in Middlesbrough, International Women’s Day at The Arc in Stockton and have been featured both on regional TV and in the local press.

Moira O’Neill manages the project with support from artists Rachel Clarke and Helen Ward along with additional input from writers Bob Beagrie and Julie Ward.
