Motor Racing

These photographs were taken at Croft circuit. The main choice here is, do you freeze all the action using a fast shutter speed like 1/500th or faster, or do you shoot slower to show some movement in the photograph and risk too much subject movement or camera shake. I decided on the latter and shot most of these at 1/125th, panning with the car to blur the background when side on. Even though I was using 200 or 300mm most of the time I didn't seem to have much problems with camera shake. Work out where the sun is in relation to the course (usually behind the clouds) and then select a good position making the most of the light and avoiding flare.
