On the Euro Star The conversation was riveting.never had so much fun in my
life. The man from the University doesn't know his ar*** from his exit, he tried to
get out of the train on the wrong side, he was trying to get out of the locked door, Grovers to the rescue. This side Steve!
Meet the crowd at Waterloo. Skinningrove once again led the way, the only ones prepared for the trip, everyone scrabbles for
Euro’s.
Present are Janice Dyke and Margaret Evans: Skinningrove, Peter Carden: Trimdon, Ged Quayle:Liverpool, John Shore Plymouth, Steve Thompson
Teesside Uni and Alastair Clark BECTA.
The BECTA tour rep met us and gave us an inductionWe were given strict instructions for our experience . You must be serious at all times and I want a written report of everything you do, to which Steve asked the directions for the closest beach. Ged was frisked at the security desk and looked worried. Peter wasn’t
frisked and looked upset.
Alastair guided us to the train, after bags and people were all comfy and settled, John said he thought we were on the Brussels train Alastair the tour rep got the blame and was sent to check. Relief on his face we were on the right one.
Not long in to the journey the North/South difference became apparent and seat swapping occurred. We didn’t fall out you understand but conversations differed one went in to funding and the other went... well !! into decline.
How far to Sangatte. As we entered the tunnel Steve said "not far now, its just around the corner"
We are now in Paris, feeling very tired never mind our next job is finding platform 17 and onto Amiens.
In Amiens we are met by Jerome. A cute French man who whisked us of to a hotel. Freshened up then went out for an evening meal at the "Clap" cafe.
